Mustang record book →Girls Wrestling Is Exploding. Come Be Part of It.
This is the fastest-growing sport in American high schools, and it is not close. Nearly three times as many girls wrestle today as five years ago, and the door to college wrestling is wider every single season.
What that means for you: there is a weight class for every athlete, so you compete against wrestlers your own size. There are more teammates, more opponents and more scholarships every year. And the girls starting today are the ones who will own this sport in Utah — there is no better time to walk into the room.
New to Wrestling? Start Here.
You do not need any experience to join. Plenty of our wrestlers walked into the room having never wrestled a match — here is how you get on the mat.
1. Get cleared
Complete a current sports physical, register through the Mountain Crest athletic office and finish the required online forms. Nobody practices until paperwork is cleared.
2. Show up
Bring athletic clothes, wrestling shoes if you have them (we can help if you don't), a water bottle and a hair tie. Everything else we teach you.
3. Get connected
Download sportsYou and join the team channel. That's where practice changes, weigh-in times and bus schedules get posted.
Five 4A State Titles in Six Seasons
Utah sanctioned girls wrestling in 2020–21. Mountain Crest won the 4A team championship that first season and four in a row through 2024, then took the trophy back in 2026.

Grit, Grace & Gratitude
Three words carry this program:
- Grit. We do hard things. It's okay to lose. It's not okay to quit.
- Grace. Composure and character in every win and every loss, and kindness to everyone — teammates, opponents, officials and fans.
- Gratitude. We thank the people who make this possible, and we appreciate the chance to compete.
We care most about the two things every athlete controls: attitude and effort. A hard-fought loss can be a great day; a lazy win isn't. And the season is built to peak in February, so early results are not the measure of how we are doing.
Grades come first. Athletes must stay eligible under UHSAA and Cache County School District academic rules to compete.
